Hi,
I've a datagrid populating around 8000 records. The query is excuted quickly in SQL Server but the webpage is being timeout.
Any idea how to solve this?

Why would you do that? Who can possibly look through 8000+ rows and get anything meaningful? You need to return a meaningful subset (maybe the first 100 records) and then let the user request by filtering or bringing more back as needed when paging through the data.
Anyway, when you say quickly, how quick is quickly, exactly? Are you sure the query is indexed correctly? Have you gone through the execution plan? Are there any other bottlenecks?
Really need more info to sort this out but I'd start with the stored procedure.

can i update/insert record directly from markup if i use UpdatePanel inside asp.net GridControls (GridView, DetailsView, FormView...) using SqlDataSource

i can bind "html" field to "tb" TextBox, but executing update or insert command of "gv" i cant update/insert "html" field as long as it is inside UpdatePanel.
i can dynamicly find control ("tb" TextBox) using RowUpdating event and set value that way, but i am just wondering if this can be done with no extra code?

Hi
I have an Access table with a field that has the names of JPG pictures. I want a Datagrid to display these pictures (which are stored in the image directory).
I can use this line:
<asp:Image ImageUrl='<%# "images/ProShop/" + DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "WebPicturePath") %>'
.. which works locally but not from my ISPs Server.
Is there a way to create this code a different way?

i use iis7 with asp.net 2005
on win server 2008 r2 64bit
and my printer it is network printer
and use server side to print
this code work correct from visual studio but when publish application and make print from url i get this error:

and hide the pages name.

I have an aspx form which are having three usercontrols (basically 2 sets of radio buttons). All are placed dynamically on page load in a placeholder control.
I want to display the other radiobuttons(usercontrols) based on the previous selection. So for eg:
If I have three usercontrols, uc1, uc2, uc3 which are all having two sets of radio buttons. uc2 will display only if uc1 is selected and uc3 will display only if uc2 is selected.
How can I achieve this through jquery/javascript? All these controls should be loaded and visible should be hidden while loading the page.
I googled for sometime, but didn't get any effective result. Could anybody please help.

You have to create an empty container like a set of div tags, in the form or the control, assign an id to it, and use Java-script to write html in the container, creating a new set of radio buttons.
So if the DOM detects that the first set of radio buttons was selected, then the JQuery would fire and create a new set based on the result of the first set.
I've never seen an example of exactly what you want, but I have written code that does the same thing.

Each control rendered in an ASP.NET page has a unique ID (that can be queried using Control.ClientID) that can be used to access the control from JavaScript (and jQuery).
You can set up client side event handlers for the click events of the controls and show/hide other controls using the display or visibility attributes of the DOM element.

The BarCode Reader I used is KEEPAUTOMATION Free Bar Code Reader, when there is textbox and set focus on textbox, barcode id can display in textbox. But I need to capture the input in the background using ASP.NET, anyone have idea about it? thanks

I have a website on asp.net4.0. I wish to use Ajax Control ToolKit but it is giving compilation error

Error comes as soon as i add

If select Delete all existing files prior to publish option while publishing the website....than all the files of that location will be deleted.
Any one knows the files those have been deleted can be recovered? If yes than how can i get those files/ what is the location for those files?

The files are permanently deleted when you do that.
The only way to recover those files is to use recovery tools like PC Inspector File Recovery.

Description :
Connecting TFS 2005 via .Net console application for pulling the project and users information. This console will be used by the different users as standalone app for pulling out the information from thier machine.
Problem :
When the user executing the console with the proper input details as mentioned below
Eg :
getting the below error message
TF31002: Unable to connect to this Team Foundation Server
Note :
1.The user as got ADMIN rights and can connect to the TFS for different process (check in , check out etc...)
2. This console application is working fine for TFS installed in single tier architec server (TFS app server ,Database server in same server), problem occurs for the TFS installed in two tier architec sever (TFS app server ,Database server in different server )
